Guide Dogs for the Blind's logo

Dear Dr. Piazza:

We welcome your interest and support of our mission. Thank you so much for your generous donation.

Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. was incorporated in May of 1942. It all began with a dream… the dream of creating the first guide dog training school on the West Coast. It was a dream shared by Lois Merrihew and Don Donaldson who volunteered their efforts along with may others. They recognized the need to help wounded servicemen who would return from World War II without their sight. They believed in the potential of dogs to serve as guides for the blind.

We are proud to have provided more than 7,500 dogs to people with vision loss since 1942. As we continue to improve and expand our services, we invite you to share with us in our exciting mission to provide a means of safe, convenient travel. Please call (800) 295-4050 for information about graduation dates or scheduling a tour of either campuses. You may also visit our web site at wwwguidedogs.com to learn more about services and how you can become more involved with the Guide Dog family. Again, thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Robert L. Phillips
President & CEO
