Omaha Shootings Shock Residents

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

This weekend was a devastating one in Omaha. Investigators are calling it a “very violent and deadly weekend.” At least four people were shot and two men died yesterday. This didn’t happen in one big shooting fiasco; there were a number of shootings throughout the day. The first to die was twenty year old Justin Gaines. Witnesses say he was shot as many as eight times. The other man was thirty eight year old Larcell Starks, who was shot and killed an hour and forty minutes after Gaines. The Omaha shootings are a shock to many people, because the neighborhood and surrounding areas have been known to be peaceful and quiet. It just enforces the fact that you just never know. (more…)

Ensure Your Safety With Front Sight

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

In New Orleans, a seventy six year old man was killed. Henry Barber was stabbed to death inside his apartment, and was found twenty four to forty eight hours after he was murdered. At this point, no suspect has been identified. Many times, elderly people are targeted for break ins and murders because they are supposedly more feeble and easier to overtake than, say, a strong thirty four year old man. Dr. Ignatius Piazza wants to show you how to not let age or strength stand in the way of your safety. His gun training school, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, trains people from all over the nation, young and young at heart, strong and not so strong, men and women, even physically disabled people how to safely and correctly use a gun for self defense. After your first self defense gun training course from Ignatius Piazza at Front Sight, you will be able to handle any attack, even if your attacker is twice your size and half your age. Do not let the idea that it is “too late to start gun training” get inside your head! It is never too late to learn how to protect yourself! (more…)

Front Sight – For When Criminals Don’t Get Caught

Monday, November 16th, 2009

September 1995. A woman’s body was found, wrapped in a sleeping bag, killed by a gunshot to the head. October 1995. Another murder, this time the woman was found just outside of a state Forest. Neither of the women were ever identified – and police seem to think that the two murders are somehow linked, because the women appear to be related. Investigators have not stopped trying to solve this mystery, but like a scary novel turned real life, nothing else has come of it. Has the killer struck again? No one really knows, because no one knows who the killer is. It’s been fourteen years. That person could be the person standing behind you in the grocery store line. It could be your new next door neighbor that seems so friendly. Who knows? Prepare for the uncertainty in life with self defense training and gun training from Ignatius Piazza at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. (more…)

Gun Training – Stay Safe – Anytime, Anywhere

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Brian Dugan is a man who faces the death penalty. Back in 1983 he murdered a ten year old named Jeanine Nicarico. He broke into her home while she was home sick from school by kicking in the door, kidnapped her, raped her and then beat her to death. This crime happened in 1983… but he wasn’t arrested until 1985, when he abducted and murdered a seven year old girl. He tried to plead guilty to a few other attacks that happened in the 1980s to save a couple of other guys that were given the death sentence because of Nicarico’s murder. Basically what he and his attorney are trying to show the judge and the public is that even though Dugan has an extensive history of violent crimes, sexual assault and murder, his “taking the place” of the other men deems him worthy of not getting the death penalty, because this shows “integrity.” Really? Front Sight Keeps Your Neighborhood Safe

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

In Springfield, Massachusetts, people are starting to get the hang of hearing random gunshots. The recent Springfield shootings have not been a surprise to residents. A citizen even said “When you live around here in the neighborhood you hear it a lot. A lot of stuff happens around here. You just get used to it after a while.” Apparently this week brought about the second fatal shooting in less than a month. Police have even taken extra measures to help protect the town, but citizens admit that whether or not the police get involved, violence and shooting is still going to happen, because, as some say, “people don’t care about the police.” It is sad that these people feel like gun violence is just something that they need to accept and get used to. What happens if someone with a gun approaches you? Is it okay to just be “used to it” and accept the fact that it is your turn to get shot? No! Protect yourself with gun training from Front Sight Firearms Training Institute! (more…)

Will Chargers Linebacker Be… Charged?

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Any San Diego Chargers fans out there? I know I am one! Since the day I learned about football, I have been a fan of those boys. It’s sad, really… I get game updates on my phone since I don’t watch TV. Anyway, to the point. If you are a fan, you have probably heard what is going on. If you are not a fan… you have probably still heard what is going on. If you have not heard, let me brief you. Chargers Linebacker Shawne Merriman got arrested this week. His girlfriend, reality TV actress and Playboy model, Tila Tequila, accused him of choking and restraining her (battery and false imprisonment). He apparently choked her and then threw her to the ground while she was trying to leave his house in Poway (a little town about twenty minutes north of downtown San Diego)… and his attorney is claiming that Merriman was acting in an attempt to keep his girlfriend safe. The actual reasoning behind his attack is still up in the air, but Tequila was taken to the hospital. It could have been because she had been drinking and he did not want her to leave in the state she was in. However, that still is not an excuse for choking and throwing someone to the ground. There are other ways to get people to stay inside, many of which do not involve violence. (more…)

Do You Have the Time?

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Two students of Virginia Tech University have been shot and killed. They were found this week at Jefferson National Forest Campground. The assailant (or assailants) are still running around, as no suspect has been identified. That creates an unease among other students, because no one really knows who did the killing. Was it an outsider? Was it one of their fellow students? What should they do in the mean time? What they SHOULD be doing is protecting themselves from a possible aftershock attack. If the killer has not been caught, who is to say he or she will not strike again? (more…)

Front Sight Helps You Keep Your Right

Monday, November 9th, 2009

Supporters of gun control seem to think that if the availability of guns is reduced, so will school shootings, and our kids and teens will be safer. If guns are banned, young people won’t be able to get their hands on them! Right? Let’s rethink this for a minute and then consider why gun training is a better solution than gun control. (more…)

Do You Think “No One Needs a Gun”? Think Again…

Monday, November 9th, 2009

There are some people in the media who seem to think gun control is some wonderful idea. For Example, Michael Gardner (the President of NBC news) said “There is no reason for anyone in this country … to buy, to own, to have, to use a handgun… The only way to control handgun use in this country is to prohibit the guns.” He claims that “no one needs a gun” except for people in law enforcement and the military. Another person highly in favor of gun control is Janet Reno. She said, “The most effective means of fighting crime in the United States is to outlaw the possession of any type of firearm by the civilian populace.” (more…)

Front Sight for Your Flight

Monday, November 9th, 2009

The student’s phone rang. It being a “different” day in New York, my cousin (the classroom teacher) allowed her young student to answer the phone.

“Hi, Honey, it’s Dad. I just wanted to tell you that the plane hit below my office and I’m not going to be able to get out. I wanted the chance to tell you goodbye and I love you.” (more…)
