Gun Training for Trying Times

Monday, December 21st, 2009

People usually get arrested for a reason, right? Once they are arrested, they are ordered to appear in court and defend their position, either resulting in a verdict of innocence or a conviction of guilt. They get sentenced to a certain amount of time in jail or prison, depending on their crime and the effects of the crime. Now, in many states, those sentences are being slashed, because it costs a lot of money to keep convicts in prison. States are saying they just do not have enough money. Over the next three years, California will release about fifty five thousand prisoners. Kentucky has released over a thousand already and have taken fifteen hundred off parole. Nevada is proposing the closure of Nevada State Prison. These are scary thoughts to the law abiding citizens of America, considering that several states are planning these prisoner early release programs. It has started already and it will only continue. Is the ERD Changing in Your State? Protect Yourself.

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

What is an ERD? ERD stands for Earliest Release Date… the date that a prisoner has finished his or her minimum prison sentence. Minimum sentence will soon be as little as fifty percent of the original sentence. That means if someone gets arrested for a crime against you and gets sentenced to ten years in prison, after five years, they could be free to go. The ERD is changing in many states due to budget cuts and a declining economy in the United States. California, Arizona, Nevada, Kentucky, Michigan, New York and other states are planning on an early release of prisoners to help their states save some cash. Many people are against this prisoner early release program, including judges, law enforcement, state prosecutors and victim advocate groups. They say they are putting the law abiding citizens at risk by putting convicted felons back at arm’s reach. How do you feel about it? Is there someone in your life that has been affected by a crime, and their attacker is now in prison? How will you feel when they get released? (more…)

Why Front Sight?

Saturday, December 19th, 2009

All over the country, prisoners are being released early due to a new prisoner early release program designed to save America money. Prisons are becoming overcrowded and America is trying to cut budget costs wherever they can. Apparently, letting prisoners out of confinement seems to be a great idea to some officials. In Florida, almost four thousand inmates are expecting to be released. This program is not supported by a variety of groups, including the Department of Corrections. Most states are claiming that only non violent prisoners are going to be released, but not all states are complying with this, which is rather frightening. When criminals get out of jail, they are usually subject to things like probation or parole, and are court ordered to attend certain correctional programs. However, these cost money, too. In addition to releasing prisoners early, many states are also cutting programs for freed inmates, such as drug rehabilitation programs and other self help courses, meaning criminals are less likely to learn the skills they need to learn to become a productive member of society. Let’s prepare ourselves by getting self defense training and gun training from the world’s greatest gun training instructors! Getting trained by the best gun training instructors at the number one gun training school is a great way to protect yourself and to protect your family from these criminals. (more…)

55,000 Reasons to Get Gun Training

Friday, December 18th, 2009

States everywhere are feeling the pinch of the declining economy. State governments are trying to save money wherever they can, but when all avenues are exhausted, where do they turn? What are the programs that cost the state the most money? I can just hear the conversation now.

“How can we make more money and spend less?”

“We can make more by charging people more for things they use everyday, like water and electricity.”

“Great. Schools cost money.”

“Let’s cut enrollment.”

“Done.”

“Prisons cost money.”

“Awesome. Let’s cut enrollment there, too!”

“Great idea!” (more…)

Less Money – Less Safety

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

You have heard the horror stories about the American economy, but have you heard that the failing economy might spark an extra need for self defense training and gun training? People everywhere are paying the price with job losses, plummeting home values, skyrocketing utility bills and so much more. Money has become the focus of most, because barely anyone has any. But it is worse than you think. For example, if you live in California and are about to enroll in college, better luck next year, because the California state school system is not accepting new applicants or in state transfer students anymore. My point? My point is that states like California have cut costs in every possible area, and now they are trying to dig deeper. Not only are your bills going up, your profits going down and going to college is becoming more of a dream than a reality, now your safety is at risk. Many states are resorting to last ditch efforts to save money – even if it means putting you in danger. Look at California. California is facing a forty two billion dollar deficit. In addition, prisons have become overcrowded – so much, in fact, that a federal lawsuit has been filed against the state. The result of the California Prison Overcrowding lawsuit is that California will be required to cut the inmate population by around fifty five THOUSAND inmates. Governor Schwarzenegger is embracing this as a way to cut California’s expenses. Excuse me? And California is not the only state that is going to do this! What does that mean to you? To me, it means that there are going to be fifty five thousand more criminals walking the streets around our kids. It means there are going to be fifty five thousands more convicts close to our homes. It means, more than ever, that the person behind you in line at the grocery store could be one of those released inmates. Not okay. (more…)

What Would You Do for a Cigarette?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

People will do crazy things to satisfy an addiction. We keep hearing the phrase “Cigarettes kill.” Apparently, not sharing your cigarettes kills, too. Recently in Nevada, a woman lost her life over a cigarette. Twenty two year old Ryan Bonnet asked Eileen Pruitt for a cigarette. She said no. So, naturally, he beat her to death. Really? Is someone you know addicted to cigarettes? Is someone you know THAT addicted to cigarettes? What is worse… is this is not the first time something like this has happened! During the spring, twenty nine year old Dawn Shipley was shot when she refused to give someone cigarettes. He approached her and her boyfriend, asked for her cigarettes. She said no. He started yelling at her, pulled out a handgun and shot her. There are a lot of things I really, really like. And there are a lot of things I would rather not do without. But killing someone over one of them? I guess just because I think it is insane does not mean the scary people out there will not do it. All we can do is protect ourselves. We can do this by getting self defense training and gun training from the world’s best gun training school, Front Sight Firearms Training School, located just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. Front Sight was founded over thirteen years ago by a man named Dr. Ignatius Piazza. (more…)

Get Gun Training – Because Crime Keeps Happening

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

The man who killed seven people in a restaurant in Chicago back in 1993, James Degorski, has finally been convicted and sentenced to life in prison. He brutally murdered two of the Chicago restaurant’s owners and five of their employees by shooting them, stabbing them and then stacking them in the walk in refrigerator. The co-defendant in the Degorski murder case, Juan Luna, was convicted of murder two years ago and was also sentenced to life in prison. It seems like we hear about murders every day. Either a new slaying has occurred or people are finally getting convicted for past ones. If a day goes by where we do not have to endure hearing about one more murder, other viscous crimes still plague our newscasts. Rapes, robberies, carjackings, you name it – our news stories are just littered with unfortunate events. When will people realize that until we do something about it, these things will just keep happening? Violent crimes can be prevented! Let’s start taking action! (more…)

Gun Training Protects Your Home

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Imagine yourself at home, hanging out with your wife. Then, all of a sudden, your doorknob starts to jiggle. You can hear muffled voices on the other side of your door. You hear the sound of low clicking as the knob continues to move. Then you hear it. One loud CLICK and your door swings open. Three masked beings stand in your doorway. They barge in. In their gloved hands, you see a gun. What do you do? Are you ready? Are you safe? Is your wife safe? Take a moment to consider the story. Sound kind of far fetched? Okay, well, consider this.

A couple was murdered last week and as a result, five people have been arrested. Fifty three year old Willem le Roux appeared to have been killed due to multiple head injuries. His wife, fifty year old Julie Roux was killed by a gunshot to her head. In addition, several of their belongings were recovered, meaning the couple was murdered during a robbery. The Roux murder has brought attention, once again, to the fact that home burglaries are on the rise. (more…)

Good Food – Bad Security

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

In the parking lot of the Good Food Store in Missoula, Montana, two women were robbed at gunpoint. Investigators of the crime seem to think that the man who attacked these women was the same man who robbed a total of three other people a week earlier in a difference grocery store parking lot. The man has not been caught nor identified, and police fear that the robberies will just keep happening until he is arrested, especially since the Good Food Store employees have claimed that they don’t have enough money for more security. The idea of the grocery store robberies is an unsettling thought for the people of Missoula. Actually, it is pretty unsettling for law abiding citizens everywhere, since crimes like this are not uncommon occurrences. When security is lacking, you must protect yourself! Prepare yourself to ward off robbers by getting gun training and other forms of self defense training from the best gun training school in the world, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. Front Sight was founded in 1996 by Four Weapons Combat Master, Dr. Ignatius Piazza. Ignatius Piazza and his highly trained team of gun training instructors work together to make sure that students of Front Sight get the the best possible gun training available in the world today. Gun Training and Domestic Abuse

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

Once again, we have reached the month of October. In addition to celebrating Halloween, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence is something that affects so many people, yet it is often kept on the hush, for fear of the ramifications. Battered women laugh it off and make up stories to hide the fact they are being beaten. “I ran into a door; I’m so clumsy!” Men try to hide it when their wives hit them so they do not have to look “less manly” or appear weak. So many people in abusive relationships keep silent, because the act of speaking out could cause a devastating – or even fatal – blow out. So they live in fear, try to stay out of their lover’s way and find new ideas to hide the bruises. Dr. Ignatius Piazza of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute assures you that it does not have to be this way! Get self defense training and gun training today so that you do not have to live with new broken bones and injuries tomorrow. Domestic violence is not okay… and it is time that we did something to stop it. (more…)
