For four days, I watched my life change right in front of my eyes. I sat in lecture halls with open eyes and ears… for once, I was not tuning out an instructor. I asked questions and got better answers than I expected. I learned how to protect myself and my family. I shot a gun. I hit the bullseye on targets… a lot. I scared off intruders. I helped other people learn. I shot a target I could barely see. I fixed gun malfunctions in seconds. I diagnosed and fixed gun malfunctions without being able to see the gun. I pulled a gun from a concealed holster and was ready to shoot before someone could count to one. I saved hostages. Where was I and how did I get to do something as cool as this?

I am very familiar with the concept of getting what I pay for. Usually, if something is extremely cheap monetarily, it is extremely cheap value-wise, as well. Or, on the other hand, high price often means high quality. Right? Well, not always. I have found a company that has a value that exceeds the price by a landslide. I got extensive gun training from the best gun training instructors in the world. Now I know more about gun training and safe gun use than most people I know. I got my gun training at Dr. Ignatius Piazza’s Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. I am proud to say it, and I say it often. I am especially happy to talk about it when people ask me, “Woah! Where did you learn how to shoot??” Looking at me, most people think that I couldn’t know the first thing about using a gun. Ha.
It’s a well known fact that I talk about the things I love… a lot. I kind of don’t stop talking about my favorite things. So, when I meet a new person, obviously, the subject of Front Sight usually comes up in conversation. They ask me what I like to do and I say one of the things I do is advocate a gun training school called Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in Nevada. Being a somewhat smaller girl, (I’m 5’3 and don’t look extremely strong or powerful), I usually get a questionable look. “Do you know how to shoot a gun?” is a question I am often asked.
I chuckle to myself and tell them about my gun training at Front Sight. I tell them what a great gun training school it is and that Ignatius Piazza is the best. I tell them I learned how to clear gun malfunctions, how to use a gun for self defense, how to get out of using a gun, how to predict a threat before it happens and even how to handle a hostage situation. But what usually gets their thoughts ticking is when I tell them how I was able to improve someone else’s shooting via a text message. He took a picture of his target. Because I had gotten awesome gun training at Front Sight, I was immediately able to see what he was doing incorrectly. I knew exactly how he was pressing the gun’s trigger without even watching him do it. I told him what he was doing, told him why he was doing it and told him how to fix it. All via text message. Guess what? His shooting improved.
I have been shooting with a friend who watched my shooting form. He commented on how perfect it was and how amazed he was at my trigger control. He was nervous to shoot after me because he was afraid my shooting would make him look bad. My gun training at Front Sight was life changing. It was educational and tons of fun. The friend that I went with to Front Sight watched me go from a total novice to being able to shoot really well in a matter of days. My shooting improved by an insane amount, I gained lots of confidence, I learned way more than just how to shoot a gun and to top it off, I had SO MUCH FUN. It’s no wonder my friends can’t shut me up about Front Sight.

I recently moved and now, instead of living alone, I live with two other girls. To my dismay, I had a dream the other night that a guy broke into our house. What a bummer to have a dream like that! In my dream, one of my house mates came to me and said, “There is a guy outside… and he’s trying to get in.” Well, he got in the house. Luckily, I have gotten gun training from Dr. Ignatius Piazza at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in Las Vegas, Nevada. Why luckily? Because I knew exactly what to do… IN MY DREAM. Yep. In real life, I woke up and went through Dream EmmySue’s actions in my head. My Front Sight training was all there. I can honestly say that the gun training instructors at Front Sight trained me SO WELL that I knew how to handle a life threatening situation in my subconscious mind without having to take time to think about it.
I knew how to stand near the doorway. I knew how to warn the guy to stop. I knew how to present my weapon quickly and flawlessly. I knew how to judge whether the guy was stopping his actions or not. Most importantly, I knew my limit… I knew at exactly what point I was willing to shoot. This is one thing the gun training instructors at Front Sight emphasize on a very, very strong level.
