Ignatius Piazza Changes the World

Saturday, October 15th, 2011

Four Weapons Combat Master, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, is a man with a mindset for change. He wants to change the world in a positive way by educating and training people about gun safety and self defense. His goal is to create a safer world to live in. However, there are many people out there that really want to get self defense training or gun training but they just simply do not have the money to do it. This is where Ignatius Piazza comes in.

Ignatius Piazza owns and operates the number one gun training school in the world, called Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. At Front Sight, thousands upon thousands of students are trained each year to be able to handle a gun safely, use a gun effectively for self defense, offer family protection and much more. Ignatius Piazza’s gun training courses are so effective and impressively fun that they draw more and more people every year, at least doubling the size of Front Sight as each calendar year passes. For fifteen years, Front Sight has operated this way, and it is on its way to do it again. Students (including military personnel, law enforcement officers and gun training instructors from other firearms training schools) rave on and on about the quality of the gun training offered by Ignatius Piazza at Front Sight. The word is that you cannot get better gun training than Front Sight’s gun training.

But Ignatius Piazza does more than run the best gun training school in the world. He could do just this, yes, and no one would think less of him, but he has been bitten by the philanthropic bug and now, he just can’t seem to get enough of it. Not only does Ignatius Piazza offer special deals to attend his gun training courses for pennies on the dollar, he heads up a philanthropic organization called Helping Those Who Help Others, where he donates his dedicated efforts to many charitable organizations.

To date, Ignatius Piazza has donated almost eleven million dollars in cash and benefits to a variety of charitable organizations all over the country, such as Guide Dogs For The Blind, Inc., The Special Olympics, Suicide Prevention Care Fund and The American Humane Association, to name a fraction of the charities. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight donate to Children’s Charities, Women’s Charities, Religious Charities, Military Charities and so many other charitable organizations that it is baffling to see the extensive list.

Ignatius Piazza has the dream of a safer world. He started out as just one man who realized he needed to learn how to use a gun for self defense when he and his family were threatened by a shooting. And now, twenty three years after that monumental realization, Ignatius Piazza makes a difference in people’s lives every day. He has changed the lives of millions of people, and will not stop. He will only continue to offer the world’s best gun training and continue to facilitate the donations of Helping Those Who Help Others.

Not Getting Gun Training: What’s Your Excuse?

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

I have been researching Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, the gun training school just outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, for years… literally. I think the first time I stumbled across Front Sight was summer of 2008. Since then, I have not stopped, and I am always impressed with what I find. I love reading testimonials from other students of Front Sight and learning how founder and director, Dr. Ignatius Piazza changed their lives. I enjoy reading about the special gun training courses, the awesome deals that Ignatius Piazza conjures up and seeing his blog every week. I am grateful for the free Front Sight Newsletter that Ignatius Piazza writes himself, because I know I am always one of the first to know of the great things going on at Front Sight. I am impressed with Ignatius Piazza’s philanthropic heart and truly understand why he is known as the Millionaire Patriot. Learning about Ignatius Piazza’s charity giving always astounds me. I have always looked forward to learning the next thing about gun training at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.

Truth be told, I had been wanting to get gun training for a long time before learning about Front Sight. I just never knew where to look. Then a friend told me about Ignatius Piazza, the Four Weapons Combat Master, and Front Sight. So I used it as my starting point and started looking around and doing research. I finally came to the decision that Front Sight was, in fact, the best place in the world to receive gun training of any kind. However, I made up excuses as to why I couldn’t attend.

Ignoring pretty much everything I had already learned about Front Sight, I still told myself that I didn’t have the money, I didn’t have the time and I was too much of a beginner to get anything out of the best gun training school in the world. (I had to ignore everything that I had previously learned about Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight, because all of my research told me that those excuses were easily handleable.) Yet I kept researching Front Sight and I finally started to become antsy and knew I just had to set my excuses aside and just do it. I lived alone, and owed it to myself to learn how to protect myself.

Of course, Ignatius Piazza blasted through each one of my excuses by offering me an unbelievable deal on my gun training (which he often does) and reminding me that his gun training courses don’t require an extensive vacation from work. My apprehension for being such a beginner was also easily dismantled by my Front Sight gun training instructors, who helped me immensely and turned me into a confident shooter in just a few days.

Long story short. My excuses did nothing but annoy me. When I finally dropped them and went out to get my gun training at Front Sight, I was so happy. Front Sight was nothing short of incredible. I know that I could still be making excuses as to why I don’t want to learn how to protect myself… but I’m not.

Now I make excuses to go to Front Sight.

Offering More Than Gun Training: Front Sight Firearms Training Institute

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

I love Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. I get a huge kick out of talking about it, writing about it and talking about it some more. It is kind of like an obsession of mine, as I am sure you are aware. The way I see it is this: Learning self defense is extremely important. I want people to get the best self defense training possible. I do not want to rave about a sub par self defense training place. Thus, I speak of Front Sight. Front Sight is more than a gun training school. Dr. Ignatius Piazza, the man that founded and now directs Front Sight, offers all types of self defense training, from knife training to empty hands self defense training, like martial arts.

All though I seriously believe gun training is very, very important, especially if you wish to own a gun or someone in your home owns a gun, I also believe that other types of self defense training are just as crucial. There are places (too many of them) that do not allow someone to carry a gun. So, us, as law abiding citizens, obey what we are told and do not carry a gun to those places, right? Well, then there are bad guys. These bad guys do not seem to care that the law says they cannot do it, and they bring the guns in anyway. So what do we do if we encounter someone who is carrying a gun and we don’t have one?

There are other places where it is extremely difficult to sneak a gun into, but these bad guys we speak of are likely to be prepared to fight. An example of a place like this: an airplane. Post 9-11, it is super difficult to get a nail file or a bottle of water on board, much more a handgun. What’s the bad guy going to do? Approach the pilot and say, “Sir, would you mind if I take over flying this here plane? I’ve got a mountain to crash into and I am really running out of time.” ?? Or maybe he will just simply say to you, “Hi. I’d like to have your wallet now. Okay, thanks!” (…as you hand it to him?) Right. These guys are going to fight. So what do you do if someone tries to fight you? Can you protect yourself and your family?

Ignatius Piazza and his team of professional self defense training instructors at Front Sight will show you how to defend yourself and offer family protection. They will show you how to handle someone with a gun if you don’t have one. You will learn how to disarm your opponent, and then how to use the gun for self defense. You will learn how to defend yourself against someone’s fists so you can stay safe, even if neither of you has a weapon for you to use.

Gun training is so important. But there are times when using a gun for self defense is not really an option. Front Sight will train you what to do in those times, so you can feel safe one hundred percent of the time.

Front Sight: My Safety Insurance Policy

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

What types of insurance do you have? Health insurance, dental insurance, home insurance, life insurance, car insurance… Many of us see these things as “expenses”… but when the time comes that they are needed… man, they are helpful. We hope we never have to use them, but aren’t we glad that we have them if the need ever comes? What would happen if you broke a bone or got really sick and did not have health insurance? What would happen if your car got totaled if you did not have car insurance? I like to see my self defense training and gun training as safety insurance. My gun training From Dr. Ignatius Piazza at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute was like insurance to my safety, saying that it can be there when I need it.

Having received the best gun training in the world from the top gun training instructors available to the world today, I am confident that if I ever need to use the self defense skills, shooting techniques and gun handling drills taught at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, I will be able to pull them right out of my holster and they will be there for me, just like any good insurance plan. One of the great things about the safety insurance I get from Ignatius Piazza at Front Sight is that my deductible has already been met. July Fourth at Front Sight

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Independence Day is coming up so soon. At Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, many gun training students get to party alongside Four Weapons Combat Master, Dr. Ignatius Piazza at his amazing July Fourth extravaganza. Every year, Ignatius Piazza outdoes himself by throwing one of the world’s coolest parties, offering fun times, exciting opportunities and plenty of perks to his students that join him at the Front Sight Fourth of July party. You are not going to want to miss this.

So how do I get a sought after invitation to the July 4th party at Front Sight? Every Front Sight First Family Member (a Front Sight Lifetime Membership Card Holder) gets an invitation every year from Ignatius Piazza to join him at the celebration. But wait; before you run away screaming, thinking that this is something far out of reach because you will never be able to afford a lifetime membership for ANYTHING, much less the world’s greatest gun training school that is owned and operated by the second man in the world to become a Four Weapons Combat Master, hear me out. It may be easier to score yourself a Front Sight Lifetime Membership than you think… and it is likely way more valuable than you could ever imagine.

I am a Front Sight Diamond Lifetime Member. That means I get to go to ANY and every Front Sight gun training course, edged weapons course, empty hands self defense training course or any other self defense training course that ever comes to Front Sight. AND I can attend them as many times as I want for the rest of my life. Of course, there are other Front Sight Memberships, which each offer a different menu of self defense training courses that the card holder can attend, so you can easily find a Front Sight Lifetime Membership that fits your needs. I just wanted the Diamond Membership because… well… it’s awesome. Do I have a crazy job that pays me an insane amount of money? No. Do I have some sort of vault with piles of money in it? No. Did I inherit riches and now have extra money to throw away? No. I have a regular job. I pay bills. I have to budget. I buy jeans at secondhand and discount stores because I need to save money. But I was easily able to afford a Front Sight Lifetime Membership and secure myself that invitation to Dr. Ignatius Piazza’s Fourth of July Party.

You know, you can afford a Lifetime Membership at Front Sight, too. I am going to let you in on a little secret. I didn’t pay full price for my membership. I got my Front Sight membership at an almost laughable price because I paid attention to Ignatius Piazza’s FREE NEWSLETTERS and the Front Sight Blog Postings. Ignatius Piazza often offers ridiculous deals on gun training courses and gun training memberships. Go ahead and sign up for the Free Front Sight Newsletter today and keep a lookout for Ignatius Piazza’s next hot deal. You won’t want to miss it!

The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, The Final Chapter

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, the awesome gun training school in Pahrump, Nevada (just about an hour outside of Las Vegas) is more than just a gun training school. It is more than just a place where you can learn how to be a great shooter. Front Sight is a place where regular people can go and change their lives. When it comes to gun training and learning how to use a gun for self defense, people do not have to be rich or have tons of experience in shooting to succeed at Front Sight. Heck, they will be perfectly fine with NO TRAINING WHATSOEVER because Front Sight will provide all of the gun training that anyone could need.

Dr. Ignatius Piazza and his team of highly trained gun training instructors teach not only how to use a gun for self defense, but how to avoid using a gun in the first place. They train students to adequately defend themselves without the use of a weapon, only using a gun as an absolute necessity. Students of Front Sight will also be mentally prepared for the effects of using a gun: physically and mentally. At Front Sight, I learned what it means to be in the Combat Mindset. I learned how to decide what my limits are and what to do before and after reaching them. Ignatius Piazza and the Front Sight instructors taught me taught me that my life will change if I need to use a gun for self defense, what to expect and how to handle each situation. Their guidance goes way beyond that of a normal gun training school. Front Sight doesn’t just teach you about shooting. Front Sight teaches you about life.

I learned the Color Code of Mental Awareness from Ignatius Piazza’s gun training program. I learned how to be aware… always… no matter where I am or what I am doing. Being fully aware of your surroundings will protect you because you will be more able to know when a threat is going to occur. Now, when I walk to my car or down the street, I know how to be aware of what is going on around me, such as where people are standing in the parking lot and what they are doing. Being attacked by someone you see coming is a lot different than being attacked when you have no idea what is going on. The more aware you are, the more reaction time you have. The more reaction time you have, the greater your chance of escape. Front Sight teaches you that true self defense goes beyond the barrel of a gun.

Most of all, though, was what happened to my confidence level during my stay at Front Sight. Learning that I can protect myself (and learning that I can protect myself from someone more than twice my size), learning a skill that can save lives (and it’s a skill that is pretty awesome at the same time), and learning that I don’t have to live my life scared or in a paranoid manner… these things all raised my confidence level in myself as a person. I know I no longer have to be afraid of walking to my car at night or living alone. I know that I will be able to protect my kids when I have a family. I know that no one can have power over me that I cannot overcome… Front Sight doesn’t just offer great gun training. Front Sight offered me a better life. And I took it. What about you?

The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Nine

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

You may be pretty good at shooting. Heck, your bullets may hit pretty close to the bullseye of a target almost every shot you make. But did you know that while under stress, your shots will only be about fifty percent as accurate as your best day on the range? During my first Four Day Defensive Handgun Training Course at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, I was shown just how much a stressful situation can change your shooting ability. In The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Eight, I talked about the Front Sight shooting competition, and what had happened because of my stress levels rising. Dr. Ignatius Piazza and the gun training instructors at Front Sight pay special attention to helping students learn how to remain calm in stressful situations, so their stress does not get the best of them in a real life threatening moment.

At Front Sight, I learned through scenario based training, which helps overall comfort levels when having to experience the situations in real life. Since a student of Front Sight has already, “been there and done that,” if you will, an actual life threatening situation experience becomes easier to handle. Think about it. What are the differences in the two following situations?

1.    A masked gunman pulls a gun out at you. You have never experienced this type of situation before. You have only shot stationary paper targets with circles on them at the shooting range.
2.    A masked gunman pulls a gun out at you. You have gone through this situation dozens of times with a professional gun training instructor. You have been forced to escape the situation several times in a row, and have even done it in front of people.

Which situation would you rather be in? Ignatius Piazza made sure that his gun training at Front Sight would prepare his students for real life. He brought this to a personal level to me when, in one of my last exercises on the range, the gun training instructor placed a target in front of me that was a replica of a hostage situation. Each student in my gun training course had to name his or her hostage, and it had to be someone each person really cared about.

I named mine after my niece. Talk about a stressful situation! I knew how badly I would feel if I hit the wrong person on the target. However, because of my excellent gun training at Front Sight, I was able to focus on what I was doing and really put myself into the situation, as if it were real life… and I saved my niece.

Remember how on Day One of my Front Sight Self Defense Gun Training Course, I was pretty much the worst shooter that ever lived? Yeah… on Day Four at Front Sight, I was able to shoot a gun EXACTLY where I aimed it WHILE being put under an extreme amount of stress.

So why was I so accurate in my shooting? The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Ten will explain the differences between how I shot on Day One versus how I shot on Day Four. There, you will learn the mistake that so many people (about 95% of the gun using population) make, and most people don’t even know they are doing it. Come with me on our adventure and let me show you what I learned at Front Sight that made me able to shoot exactly on target.

The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Eight

Monday, September 12th, 2011

I told you that Front Sight Firearms Training Institute offers competitive gun training. Do I mean that Front Sight’s rates are competitive against other gun training schools? Well, of course they are… but that’s not what I am talking about here. Do I mean that Front Sight’s gun training is way better than any other gun training school in the world? Sure it is… but that is not what I am talking about here either. I am talking about actual competitive gun training… as in gun training for competitive shooting.

In my first Four Day Defensive Handgun Training Course at Front Sight, I got to participate in a shooting competition. Many people will think that this just is not necessary; that it is training to shoot for sport rather than self defense. I thought that at first, too. But let me explain something to you.

You stand on the firing line with one other person. You each have a certain number of targets to shoot, all placed at various distances. Your goal is to knock all of the targets down before the other guy does. Sounds simple enough, right? But then you realize that you have got about twenty or so other people watching you, including three Front Sight gun training instructors that are standing almost over your shoulder, calling the shots and announcing winners… and the NOT winners. If THAT doesn’t teach you how to shoot quickly AND effectively while under stress, I don’t know what does.

Up to this point in my Front Sight gun training from Dr. Ignatius Piazza, I had only had to compete against myself. Add another person to the mix and it surely changes things. Unfortunately, I let my nerves get to me and ended up getting creamed… but it taught me a giant lesson. SHOOTING WHILE UNDER STRESS GREATLY CHANGES EVERYTHING.

I was stressed and nervous, so my presentation speed slowed, leaving me less time to beat the other guy to the shots. My hands were shaking, so my accuracy suffered, leaving me to miss my targets. I watched the other guy’s targets fall on every perfect shot, increasing my stress level and decreasing my focus. What if it had been a real gunfight? My presentation speed was slowed, leaving the bad guy more time to take me down. My accuracy was off, giving the bad guy more chances to get me. He was calm and his shots were perfect, which could have been the shots to hit me.

Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight opened my eyes to what real life self defense shooting involves. I learned first hand the way it feels to be in a gunfight, while in a safe and controlled environment, so if it were to happen in real life, I will be way more prepared than I would have been without this shooting competition. Over the rest of my gun training course, my Front Sight instructors helped me gain and keep focus, increase my confidence and reduce my stress level, so, by the end of my four days at Front Sight, my hands were firm and steady.

THAT, my friends, was severely helpful… especially in the personalized hostage situation at the end of the course… I just might feel like talking about that in The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Nine.

The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Six

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute trained me so well. But during my first Four Day Defensive Handgun Training Course, I didn’t just learn how to shoot. I learned how to use a gun for self defense, which is more than just shooting a gun. Yes, I learned how to shoot… and, if you follow me to the end of these chronicles, you will see just how well I could shoot by the end of my first four day gun training course at Front Sight… but I also learned other self defense techniques that go into gun training.

One of these self defense techniques was learning how to diagnose and fix a gun malfunction. If you are like most people, you are probably wondering what a gun malfunction is. The first time it happened to me, I just about freaked out. My Front Sight gun training instructor quickly diagnosed the malfunction and cleared it for me, as we had not yet reached that point in our training, but he gave me a quick overview of what he was doing, probably because I was looking at him like he had just started talking in Portuguese.

So, my gun malfunctioned and I didn’t know what to do. What would have happened if I had been in the middle of a gun fight? What if someone had broken into my house and I was defending my kid, and all of a sudden my gun malfunctioned and I didn’t know what was happening? I don’t even want to think about it. As I have said before, Dr. Ignatius Piazza and Front Sight Firearms Training Institute prepare you for everything.

Over the next couple days, I learned the difference between every gun malfunction and how to clear each one. At the beginning of my Front Sight gun training, it took me a long time to clear each malfunction. By the last day, I could clear a Type Three Malfunction in under six seconds. I could clear a Type One in less than a second. Ignatius Piazza makes sure that his students know how to do things… and know how to do things fast.

Up until my Front Sight Night Gun Training, I had learned how to diagnose these malfunctions by sight and was pretty decent at it. But when my gun malfunctioned in the middle of the nearly pitch black shooting range, it was a totally different story. I had to completely rely on how my gun felt in order to learn that it was a Type Three. Then I had to hold my flashlight under my arm so I wouldn’t accidentally give away my location, while clearing and reloading my weapon. Talk about a real life situation right there! If it weren’t for my Front Sight gun training from Ignatius Piazza, there is no way I would have been able to do it.

Front Sight’s Night Gun Training was not only super educational, it was also one of the greatest nights I have experienced in terms of how fun it was. The whole way home, my friend and I could not stop talking about it.

So, by that point, we had learned so much about gun safety and defensive shooting, including how to clear a home invasion and how to shoot effectively in the darkness… AND what to do if you are attacked by multiple people at once. Ignatius Piazza thought of everything! So what DOES happen when you get attacked by several people at the same time? Check out The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Seven and find out!

The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Five

Monday, September 5th, 2011

I was standing in the doorway of the house with my gun training instructor from Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. I had just shot a guy (or hopefully shot a guy) that was holding a grenade at the other end of the house. Since I had been standing incorrectly in the doorway, I had no time to aim at Mr. Grenade Guy, and I just had to shoot and rely on the gun training I had received from Four Weapons Combat Master, Dr. Ignatius Piazza and his team of professional gun training instructors.

I was learning what it was like to have to enter into a home invasion scenario and save people’s lives. It was all time critical and I was learning how to utilize my Front Sight gun training in real life. After clearing the first room, shooting two bad guys so far and NOT shooting two good guys, my gun malfunctioned. Because my Front Sight gun training instructors had taught me how to diagnose and clear gun malfunctions, I was able to clear my type three malfunction in about seven seconds. (We learned more about clearing malfunctions later, and I was able to shave my time down to less than six seconds!) Upon entering the second room, I saw him: the bad guy that had a gun to my sister’s head. He started to count down, telling me that he would shoot her in five, four, three, t- BAM! I had aimed and shot.

Then it was time. I was about to see my results. Did I hit the bad guys? Had Front Sight’s gun training helped me actually shoot on target, even under the crunch of time and stress? First bad guy: I missed once, but my other shot was exactly on target. Second bad guy (Mr. Grenade Guy): Huh. Ignatius Piazza’s gun training really DOES work. From the other side of the house with no time to aim, there were two perfectly placed bullet holes in his thoracic cavity. Third bad guy (the jerk that had my sister): One bullet hole right in his face. Did I hit my sister? Nope.

Well then. I guess Front Sight’s gun training was actually helping me, the person who started out as the worst shooter in the world. I had already learned so much about guns, gun safety and gun training, besides the things I have already mentioned.

Learning how to shoot quickly and accurately in the daytime in a well lit area is challenging. But how many times will you actually need to shoot in broad daylight? The fact is, is that most attacks and robberies happen at night when visibility is low. That is why Ignatius Piazza includes night gun training in his self defense gun training courses at Front Sight. In addition to shooting in low visibility, you will learn how to hold and shine a flashlight so that you don’t give away your location. And… if you’re like me… you will have to learn how to diagnose and clear a malfunction without being able to see it, while not moving one arm because you’re hiding your flashlight in the proper place.

Come with me into my Front Sight Night Gun Training in The Chronicles of Front Sight: My Experience, Part Six.
