55,000 Reasons to Get Gun Training

States everywhere are feeling the pinch of the declining economy. State governments are trying to save money wherever they can, but when all avenues are exhausted, where do they turn? What are the programs that cost the state the most money? I can just hear the conversation now.

“How can we make more money and spend less?”

“We can make more by charging people more for things they use everyday, like water and electricity.”

“Great. Schools cost money.”

“Let’s cut enrollment.”

“Done.”

“Prisons cost money.”

“Awesome. Let’s cut enrollment there, too!”

Omaha Shootings Shock Residents

This weekend was a devastating one in Omaha. Investigators are calling it a “very violent and deadly weekend.” At least four people were shot and two men died yesterday. This didn’t happen in one big shooting fiasco; there were a number of shootings throughout the day. The first to die was twenty year old Justin Gaines. Witnesses say he was shot as many as eight times. The other man was thirty eight year old Larcell Starks, who was shot and killed an hour and forty minutes after Gaines. The Omaha shootings are a shock to many people, because the neighborhood and surrounding areas have been known to be peaceful and quiet. It just enforces the fact that you just never know. (more…)

Supporters of gun control seem to think that if the availability of guns is reduced, so will school shootings, and our kids and teens will be safer. If guns are banned, young people won’t be able to get their hands on them! Right? Let’s rethink this for a minute and then consider why gun training is a better solution than gun control. (more…)
