One quiet night in 1988 a dream was born. Breaking the silence, it was a loud and powerful birth. An engine rumbled, shots rang out through open car windows, screams pierced the night and tires squealed, leaving a peaceful neighborhood in shambles and tears. In September of 1998, a ninety two year old woman, Helen Freeman Foster, lived by herself. The new sentence is eleven to fourteen years – and remember, he has already served ten of those years. Thus is the court system. It is scary to think that a man who savagely beat a woman in her nineties will soon be out and about, free to take on the world. With the current budget crisis in America, sentences are getting reduced often and dramatically. Their sentences are becoming fragments and law abiding citizens are getting scared.
