When you are considering something as important as gun training, it is crucial that you go to a really good gun training school. The way I see it, it would be irresponsible and even scary or worrisome to attend a sub par gun training school and receive less than the best gun training. I know that I, personally, would not want to rely on my abilities to save myself or protect my family if I had received training that was not complete or had not concentrated on gun safety.
At Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in Pahrump, Nevada (about an hour away from Las Vegas), you can receive the best gun training, knife training and self defense training that you will find, leaving you more prepared for real life.
What do I mean when I say prepared for real life? Many gun training schools will teach you how to shoot a stationary paper target. Some may teach you how to shoot moving targets, but few actually teach you how to use a gun for self defense. Founder and director of Front Sight, Four Weapons Combat Master, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, designed his gun training program to actually teach you how to use a gun in the time that you will need it most: to protect your life or the lives of your loved ones.
Sure, learning how to shoot a target may be fun and look cool at the shooting range, but, with only that kind of training, what would you do if a masked person breaks into your house in the middle of the night and starts running off with your baby? What would you do if someone comes up behind you and attacks while you are at the ATM? What would you do if someone pulled a gun out and pointed it at you?
Dr. Ignatius Piazza promises that when you receive gun training at Front Sight, you are taught the skills needed to handle these situations. Not only are you taught how to shoot accurately and quickly, but you are taught how to keep calm in dangerous situations. Through lectures, demonstrations and hands on shooting practice at Front Sight, students learn how to safely and effectively use a gun. Through real life scenario based training, students of Ignatius Piazza also learn how to respond to situations like home invasions and attacks from multiple people at once.
Gun training for real life self defense is a much better idea than simply gun training for shooting at a paper or metal target at the shooting range. Chances are, your attacker or perpetrator is not going to stand still and wear a sweatshirt that looks like a dart board. It would be nice, but let’s face it: that’s not real life. In real life, you are going to need to act quickly, smartly and safely in order to keep yourself and your loved ones as safe as possible. The gun training courses at Front Sight, like defensive handgun training and shotgun training, will teach you what you need to know and how you need to know it to keep yourself and your family safe.

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, a gun training school in Pahrump, Nevada founded by Dr. Ignatius Piazza, changed my life. About an hour outside of Las Vegas, Front Sight rests on a plot of land that spans about five hundred fifty acres. We drove down the dirt road and went through the front gates, pretty interested to see what was about to happen. I knew Front Sight was going to be cool. I had done research on it for, literally, years, and had finally made the decision to get myself out to take a Four Day Defensive Handgun Training Course. I was with a friend, and we were excited. From my research, Front Sight had appeared to be an effective gun training school that focused on gun safety, balancing shooting speed with accuracy, self defense training for real life scenarios and learning a lot while having fun. Needless to say, my expectations were pretty high.
I got my belt on and my holster strapped to my belt and then the guy helping me put my gun in my holster. I guess you could say I felt kind of cool while we walked to the lecture hall. I mean, I was a chick with a gun on my hip. But then again, I felt totally intimidated. I had never carried a gun before. I didn’t even know how to load it. We sat down in the Front Sight lecture hall. Looking around, it was apparent that we were two of the youngest people there. There was a huge variety of ages, sizes, types of look, accents, men and women… but I felt even more intimidated then, noticing that I was definitely one of the smallest females in the room.
A man got up to the front of the room and started talking. I was hooked on what he was saying. Before I knew it, the lecture was over and we were about to go to the gun training shooting range. Is it weird that I was so interested in the lecture that I wanted to stay and listen to the guy talk some more? I quickly found that that thought process became familiar, as the lectures at Front Sight are absolutely extraordinary.
Over the next few days, Ignatius Piazza’s team of gun training instructors took me from scared and apprehensive to confident and competent. They taught me anything and everything I could imagine about gun training and then taught me things I never would have even thought about. Ignatius Piazza’s curriculum at Front Sight is amazing! In just four days, I went from not even being able to load a gun to being able to diagnose and clear a type three malfunction in under six seconds. I went from not knowing how to hold a gun to being able to present my weapon faster than most of the people in my class. I went from being afraid to shoot to being able to hit a target spot on. I learned that it didn’t matter how small I am or how little experience I had previously had. I can be just as fast, just as good and just as effective with a gun as the buff, more experienced shooters. Front Sight works.
At the end of my four day gun training course at Front Sight, I thought about what I had previously learned about Front Sight and Ignatius Piazza. Let me tell you, I had HIGH EXPECATIONS. Those expectations were nothing compared to what I experienced at Front Sight. Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is truly a place that you have to see to believe.

I was asked where I got my gun training. Apparently, the girl first asked one of my guy friends about gun training. Knowing how well I shoot (all humility aside, of course) he directed her to me. I told her I got my gun training from Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. When she asked me where Front Sight was located, I told her it is about an hour away from Las Vegas in Pahrump, Nevada. She seemed a bit confused as to why I would go that far to get gun training when there are plenty of places to shoot and get trained here in California. Let me tell you, it is so easy to explain why… and the girl started her own further research on attending Front Sight.
So, why drive several hours or actually get on a plane to go get gun training? Front Sight is, literally, unbeatable. The gun training provided at this firearms training school is beyond compare. Within minutes of your first self defense gun training course, you will understand what I mean. The gun training instructors at Front Sight took me from zero to thinking, “Oh my gosh… did I just shoot THAT PERFECTLY?!” in four short days. My partner in class was an experienced shooter. He, too, was amazed at his improvement. Founder and Director, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, created Front Sight to really make an impact on people’s lives and shooting abilities.
I have been to shooting ranges other than Front Sight. And when I go, I think, “Really?” I look around and see how obvious it is to me that people are holding their guns incorrectly, mashing their triggers, standing in a way that won’t keep them stable and scarily, putting other people at risk. The Front Sight gun training instructors and range masters will never let people get away with incorrect form or not practicing perfect gun safety. Their aim is to make students into perfect shooters, not just decent ones. To be a perfect shooter, you’ve got to learn everything perfectly. Sounds intimidating, but Ignatius Piazza and his gun training instructors somehow make it possible. During my gun training course, everything was, all though challenging, extremely doable.
And you know, Front Sight was FUN. After class every night, my partner and I gabbed constantly for hours about what we learned and different things we did, heard and saw at Front Sight. We were so impressed with the level of training we received and extremely excited to wake up every morning to get on the range. The gun training instructors were strict on gun safety and technique, but they did it in a way that was friendly and encouraging, so we didn’t feel like we had boot camp drill sergeants for instructors. The attitudes of the gun training instructors really make a difference in how much students learn, because who learns well in an environment that they don’t enjoy? Not only will you learn an intense amount of information and stay safe, there is no question about the fact that you will enjoy Front Sight.
