Front Sight Puts Safety First – Will You?

The Second Amendment guarantees us the right to bear arms. This is because our Founding Fathers were smart men. They knew the importance of using a gun for self defense, but they also understood that guns are dangerous weapons when they are held by people who do not know how to use them, as referenced by The Virginia Constitution, also known as the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776, that stated, “That a well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state.” When a gun is used by someone who has been extensively trained in how to use it, it can offer a sense of protection and security to its operator and the surrounding people. When a gun is used by someone who does not quite understand how to handle it, the sense of security changes to danger and fear. If you are going to own a gun, carry out your responsibility to the nation and get gun training. Put safety first. (more…)
