Are you ready to be a part of history?

And now we are faced with the risk of just nonchalantly changing those freedoms and rights? I am sure you can imagine the types of words that I, along with many Americans, would like to say to that. They are not pretty. They are full of rage. They are full of sadness. They are full of the blood that our ancestors shed.
April 19 marks the day. But what if you can’t get to Washington, DC? You can still make your voice be heard. Make sure to mail these four flags so that they are postmarked on April 19. The millions of flags that will flood Washington that week will give the message loud and clear. DON’T TREAD ON US. The fifth copy of the flag stays with you for now. On April 20, Ignatius Piazza will instruct us all on what do to with it to claim our rewards. What? Reward? Yes, you read that right. You will reap a generous reward for simply standing up for yourself and your fellow Americans. This is your chance.
I know that I am not going to sit back and let history write itself. I know I am not going to let my fellow Americans write it for me. I know I am not going to just make history. I am going to join millions of strong willed Americans and BE history. What will you do?

Driving home from work today, chills flooded my body. Blue balloons – the color of her eyes – showing the letters “CK” enclosed in hearts were tied to the trees lining the street. Her photo was pinned on several of the trees and the word “MISSING” pierced my eyes. There is not a parent – or any citizen, for that matter – in this town that I know of that is not mortified by her story. Headlines on television, in the radio and all over the Internet spread remorse. Her smiling face is plastered on walls, on light poles and in parking lots. Who is this girl? Seventeen year old Chelsea King went out for a run at three o’clock on a Thursday afternoon in a community park, located less than five minutes from my office, in the upscale city of Rancho Bernardo. Safe place, safe time to be out, right? I go outside by myself all the time.
She was a cross country runner. She should have been able to outrun the 30 year old, 240 or so pound man, John Albert Gardner, III. You would think that someone in the busy park would have seen the commotion. But today, the search for her body finally ended, leaving San Diego County with solemn hearts. Sometimes, even in a crowd, perpetrators can keep their attacks secretive, and their victims are left to fend for themselves. The news keeps referring to Gardner as a “registered sex offender.” What the news has not been telling people is that he is registered in Riverside County, about thirty to forty five minutes north of where he was actually living in San Diego County. Scary, right? Again, you never know who is living next door to you or who is walking down the cheese aisle next to you at the grocery store.
I mentioned that self defense training, like the teen self defense training and teen gun training offered at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, could have helped Chelsea King and was greeted with the response that there was no way she could have fought him off; that he was just too big and strong. I read a story about a sculpture from the Orient. Beautifully crafted, it was a carving of a woman donning a headdress. On top of the headdress was a ball, carved in a flawless manner with an extremely intricate, lacy design. One look at the ball and one may think, “Oh, how pretty!” But looking more closely, one sees that inside that ball is another sphere, just as intricately designed as the first. Looking further, inside the second sphere is another, and again, every bit as flawless and intense. No one knows how many spheres are inside this sculpture, because they keep going, until you can no longer see through the carved holes to reveal another complex carving. The truly impressive thing about this sculpture is that it was created over a hundred years ago and was hand carved from a solitary piece of ivory. The artist did not have to put such attention to detail on the smaller orbs because they could easily be covered by the outer ones. Yet he persisted and the result was a perfect, irreplaceable and absolutely breathtaking piece of art. He knew that it is not just the outside that counts, but everything that goes into the sculpture. So what is my point? My point is to say that Front Sight Firearms Training Institute demonstrates similar values as the artist from the Orient.
