Imagine yourself at home, hanging out with your wife. Then, all of a sudden, your doorknob starts to jiggle. You can hear muffled voices on the other side of your door. You hear the sound of low clicking as the knob continues to move. Then you hear it. One loud CLICK and your door swings open. Three masked beings stand in your doorway. They barge in. In their gloved hands, you see a gun. What do you do? Are you ready? Are you safe? Is your wife safe? Take a moment to consider the story. Sound kind of far fetched? Okay, well, consider this.
A couple was murdered last week and as a result, five people have been arrested. Fifty three year old Willem le Roux appeared to have been killed due to multiple head injuries. His wife, fifty year old Julie Roux was killed by a gunshot to her head. In addition, several of their belongings were recovered, meaning the couple was murdered during a robbery. The Roux murder has brought attention, once again, to the fact that home burglaries are on the rise. (more…)

Once again, we have reached the month of October. In addition to celebrating Halloween, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence is something that affects so many people, yet it is often kept on the hush, for fear of the ramifications. Battered women laugh it off and make up stories to hide the fact they are being beaten. “I ran into a door; I’m so clumsy!” Men try to hide it when their wives hit them so they do not have to look “less manly” or appear weak. So many people in abusive relationships keep silent, because the act of speaking out could cause a devastating – or even fatal – blow out. So they live in fear, try to stay out of their lover’s way and find new ideas to hide the bruises. Dr. Ignatius Piazza of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute assures you that it does not have to be this way! Get self defense training and gun training today so that you do not have to live with new broken bones and injuries tomorrow. Domestic violence is not okay… and it is time that we did something to stop it. (more…)

Do you equate guns with violence? Many people who support gun control do. But think about this. Mahatma Gandhi was a peaceful revolutionary. His entire outlook was based on the principle of total non violence. On October second, we will celebrate his birthday. It is actually a national holiday, and known all over the world as the International Day of Non Violence. Mahatma Gandhi was definitely one of the most peaceful men that ever lived – and he was against gun control. He said, “Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.” You see, guns do not have to equal violence. If we bear arms for the reason that our Founding Fathers intended – for self defense – the violence doesn’t even come into the picture. The violence comes in when the bad guys use the weapons to get what they want out of us. Why should we have to surrender our possessions, our families or our lives for these criminals? We should be able to practice our Second Amendment rights and have a gun. (more…)
