$300,000 “Family Safe Forever” Grant
Presented to Las Vegas Latter-Day Saints

Las Vegas, Nevada, October 2003 - Front Sight Resorts, the world’s leading resort for self defense and personal safety training, located 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas, announced today the awarding of 500 personal safety courses to the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints, Las Vegas, Nevada South Stake. The Family Safe Forever courses are specialized two-day events designed to educate and train students on self defense tactics to minimize the possibility of becoming a victim of crime. Total value of the grant is $300,000.

“We are very pleased to present these courses as a complement to the on-going efforts of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to improve the quality of life in the Las Vegas area.” Says Dr. Ignatius Piazza, Founder and Director of Front Sight Resorts. “Despite reports of lessened national crime, latest 2002 Justice Department findings show Las Vegas with increases in robbery, aggravated assault, burglary and motor vehicle theft. Our Family Safe Forever courses will help save the lives of Las Vegas residents.”

The Family Safe Forever grant is part of a national anti-crime educational effort sponsored by Front Sight Resorts, encompassing training in both open hands defense and tactical weapon defense, as well as children and youth safety courses.
